Lent 2026 is February 18 through April 4
Lent is a time of reflection and self-examination as the Church journeys toward Easter. It begins Ash Wednesday and spans 40 days (not counting Sundays).
Lent has been practiced by the Church since the fourth century. Traditionally it is observed by prayer, fasting (self-sacrifice), and giving (financially and/or in service).
The journey of Lent is opportunity to remember our own mortality and need for Christ. We focus on the suffering and sacrifice of our Lord, and the life he exampled for us to follow. Lent is a season to open ourselves to the Holy Spirit so that we may be transformed to be more like Jesus.
